Using the free McAfee security product or enabling browser notifications can lead to annoying pop-ups. In this case, the wisest solution is to start using a subscription to the product. However, if the problem appears even if you have the subscription, then you need to use some troubleshooting methods. Here are some quick and effective methods that may help you with the issue.
Method 1: Using the Task Manage
. Start by pressing the Control, Shift, and ESC keys on the keyboard; it will launch the task management on your PC.
. On the open page, you need to look for any type of any kind of application and process related to McAfee that you don’t recognize.
. Now, right-click on that app and select the option End Task.
. In addition, scroll throught the entire list of the app and end task for every app you don’t identify.
. Once that’s done, exit from that window.
. Now, check if you are still getting the McAfee pop-ups on your device.
Method 2: Disable the McAfee Services
. Go to the Windows search section, type Services, and open it.
. Then, look for all the service files related to the McAfee program.
. Right-click on a Service and then select the Properties option.
. Now, make sure you are in the General tab on the open window, click on the Startup Type drop-down, and click on Disabled.
. Afterward, click on the OK option.
. You should repeat the same process for all the McAfee files available in that folder.
. Finally, close that window and check if the problem still persists.
Besides that, many other solutions are available that can be used. Furthermore, seek additional help if the problem is too complex to resolve on your own. Show less
